Dr. Edrene S. McKay is a freelance educator and
consultant with extensive teaching, creative, and
administrative experience. Although her specialty is
United States history, she is proficient in the
latest computer technology and has a strong
commitment to making educational resources,
including computer technology, accessible to the
community.

She is affiliated with several Arkansas and Missouri
institutions of higher learning, including NorthWest
Arkansas Community College (NWACC), Northwest
Technical Institute, the University of Arkansas
in Fayetteville, Crowder College in Neosho,
Missouri, and Missouri Southern State College. A former University of
Wisconsin-Madison academic planner, she has a Ph.D.
in history from the University of Arkansas in
Fayetteville.
At NWACC, she participates in the Step Ahead program
(which offers college-level courses to students at
area high schools) and the Weekend College program
(designed for non-traditional students). She uses
traditional and distance learning methods of
delivery.
During recent years, she has developed a "Learning
is Fun with Technology" professional development
experience for teachers at Gravette Public Schools,
an "Enrichment Through Technology" experience for
members of the community, web page development
workshops for teachers and parent educators, and a
history detective series for NWACC's Kids College
